A Truthful Lie: Ch 25

Ch 25: FEELINGS

Howdy folks, it’s been a while hasn’t it? How have you been doing? Are your exams done? Cause...I’m DONE!!! Ahahaha...exams are over...Randomness is BACK!!!

I wrote my last exam at the end of April...and well...my hand was pretty sore lol I’m officially done my third year and it feels pretty awesome...I think as a person I’ve grown a bit more...actually I think I finally had the epiphany that was supposed to hit in first year...the one where you realize that you’re an adult and your future is in your hands...so either you’re gonna make it or break it...and I hope I really MAKE IT! Anyways, I don’t think you want me to ramble on about my epiphany or anything but rather read this story...so...here it is.

Enjoy!

==

By the time they got to Myolie’s place, Ron had already filled her in on everything that went on between Tavia and himself.

Myolie: I guess you won’t be coming up then?

Ron: I guess not...unless you want me to

Myolie: No, it’s ok...I’ll have plenty of other times to tell you about stuff...you should go home and rest up...

Ron smiled: OK, I’ll take your word for it...

He stepped out of his car, and went over to open the door for Myolie. It was in his nature to be a gentleman

Myolie: Thanks...

Ron: When did we become so formal?

He gave her a light peck on the cheek as a goodnight kiss, waved, and got back on his car and drove off...It was a strange feeling, but after telling Myolie about his day, he felt even happier. God knows why this is the case, but all he knew was that knowing that he will always have someone to listen to his stories seem to make him happy.

When Monday came around Ron was equally nervous as he was excited about heading back to work. Tavia would be there. Would she smile at him? Would she speak to him in the same tone she spoke to him on their last date? All of these questions seem to flutter throughout Ron’s mind as he struggled to put on his tie, which usually wouldn’t cause him so much trouble. He felt like a little boy again, heading to a large candy shop, excited about all the flavours that were there, but at the same time a little bit nervous and anxious.

When we arrived at work, the first person he saw was...Leila. She was all smiles as well, which somehow made Ron realize how wonderful she was.

Ron: Good morning

Leila: Morning to you too Mr. Ng

Ron: Aren’t you going to ask me about how my date went?

Leila: Do you really think I care that much to ask?

Ron smiled: A quick tongue. I’ve taught you well...

Leila: Again with the oh so large ego, but...if it makes you happy, then I’ll ask. How was your date?

Ron: Wonderful.

Leila: That’s it...just one word?

Ron: What else do you want me to say? It was a good start, even though we’re still just friends at the moment

For some reason those words made it seem as though a load was lifted off her chest. She was happy that he was happy, but she was happier that Ron and Tavia are merely starting over from scratch rather than starting to date again

Ron: I think I’ll ask her to dinner again...but I’ll give her some time to take in everything first. I think being friends at the moment is a good step, don’t you agree

Leila: Seems a bit unlike the Ron Ng I originally met...but...I think the change is good

Ron: What’s that supposed to mean?

Leila: I don’t mean to offend, but when we first met, you were very much full of yourself, which you still are, don’t get me wrong. But you were also over ambitious and even a bit inconsiderate...but now...you’re not so much of a jerk

Ron: Being honest isn’t part of our job description. You’re lucky I’m in a good mood; otherwise, bashing your superior like that might cost you a lot more

But then he smiled. His smile was so contagious that it made Leila smile as well. She knew he was joking and at that moment she also realized, she had special feelings for him. This wasn’t good.

Ron: But does that also mean that you’re beginning to like me?

Leila: I...

Ron smiled: No need to answer, as an experienced lawyer I can tell by such hesitation that your answer is either brutal to me, or...the answer is yes, you are beginning to like me, which is probably more embarrassing than you can probably answer. So, just save it. I’m pretty sure; your ‘truthful’ answer would’ve created the latter

Leila: Well...in that case, since Mr. Ng here is such an experienced lawyer he would also have realized that he has a meeting to attend to in a few hours

Ron: I do? With whom?

Leila: Your favourite business partner thus far...

Ron: Really now, why didn’t you tell me about it earlier? I would’ve dressed for the occasion

Leila raised her eyebrow: And to think I thought you were a slightly changed man, considering how you’re trying to win Ms. Yeung back

Ron: Ah, but does a peacock lose its feathers when it’s trying to attract its mate?

Leila smiled: Comparing yourself to an animal, and one that is NOT warm-blooded. You never seem to disappoint

Ron: ah, so my mentee here does have a wide range of knowledge, one point to you, but minus one for the quick tongue towards your superior

Leila: So, are you trying to say that I must always be at the mercy of my superior and never stand up for what I believe to be true?

Ron: With experience you’ll learn when to be quick and when to simply not speak...but, with me, I don’t mind this quick exchange, though...you should be more careful in the future, just a friendly word of advice

Leila: So now you’re looking out for me? It seems to me like your impression of me has changed as well

Ron: Like I said before, you’ve helped me see that there’s more to life then quick flings and infatuations...I guess in a way that makes you a very special lady to Ron Ng.

Leila slightly blushed at his words, and Ron immediately noticed her cheeks starting to turn pink. He looked at her carefully, smiled, and made a small gesture. He felt her pink cheeks, and his smile broadened

Ron: I think my assumption that you’re beginning to like me, is actually fact. Now I’m just curious if for some very strange reason, you’ve fallen for me

Leila: In your dreams

Ron: Well, if it makes you feel any better...I enjoyed playing the role of your husband, even if it was just for a very short day.

Leila: You were, a good father that day...and since I was never married, I wouldn’t know whether or not you were a good husband...but like I said, I think one day you will be

Ron: Thanks

Then, once again he embraced her. For some reason he felt it was the right thing to do, a simple embrace. He wanted just to have her in his arms for a moment. Maybe it was to remind himself of that day they spent together as a ‘family’ or maybe because he needed one. Regardless, Leila only became pinker at his touch, while her heart beat sped up.

Ron could feel her heart beating against his body, he could feel that rush of blood to her face that was causing her to blush and he loved it. He loved that feeling he was able to give her, that sense of anxiousness tied in with a bit of embarrassment. It was cute.

When he was with Tavia, he felt as though nothing he could do would surprise her, would make her feel like a young girl again being with her lover. It almost felt as though they were old friends reliving their memories together...and through the embrace he had with Leila he started to question whether or not trying to revive what he had with Tavia long ago, was indeed a good idea.

Finally, he released Leila from the embrace

Ron: Alright, let’s get ready for the meeting. Maybe you can get a bouquet of flowers for Ms. Chung?

Leila: I wouldn’t do that if I were you

Ron: Because?

Leila: Her fiancĂ©, who is also heir to their company is accompanying her for this meeting, since he’s in town and has heard of you

Ron laughed: Am I really some sort of ‘lady butcher?’ Just because I’m good looking and the tabloids seem to always catch me with someone, it really doesn’t mean anything...unless I admitted to them

Leila: Right...so you’re trying to say that he didn’t have to come

Ron: Ya...Ms. Chung and I get along really well...

Leila: are you referring to your relationship in the conference room or in bed?

Ron shot her a look: Really? Isn’t the answer obvious?

Leila simply stared at him

Ron looked at her with a menacing smile and mouthed the word ‘both’

I know it took me a while to write this chapter, but I'd like to let you in on a secret...I actually started writing the ending to this fanfic. *gasps* Ya, I know it sounds crazy since I've been dragging this on for a while, but, it's coming to an end. Whether or not you're going to like the ending, is a completely other story.

What I have now for the ending is I guess, really open...I know not a lot of people fancy that type of ending...but...it might work for this fanfic

Anyways, enough of my rambling. Please leave me a comment/comments, I'll try to update more frequently since I'm off and...be on a lookout for an update to The Stalker (maybe, cause I wanna poke fun at more 'issues' lol)

that's it!

Off the Record: Episode 1

Howdy folks,

Since exams are just around the corner for me and well...my fanfics are all getting kind of serious...which makes them kind of hard to write...and I’ve sort of ran out of series to watch...I’ve decided I’m going to start this series of blog posts. So...it’s called, as you can see Off the Records...and once again it’s inspired by the interviews that were given by Sammul Chan lately. So...it’s going to be FICTIONAL interviews with the many actors and actresses that I often have in my fanfics...and...well...it’ll be entertaining...because that’s exactly what I need during this exam period. So, to start off...the first ‘Episode’ will be with Sammul Chan

Episode 1:

Randomness: Hello people of the world...yes...usually, I’m just the author of your fanfics...but today...I shall take a part in this interesting project I decided to start up and interview the many artists that I feature in my fanfics in a series of interviews. So, without further ado, Sammul Chan!

Sammul : Hello everyone, and hello to you too, Randomness

Randomness: I got to be frank...I’m somewhat of a fan of yours (giggles awkwardly)

Sammul: I’m flattered, and thanks for having me as your first guest

Randomness: Well...it was a tossup between you and Ron Ng

Sammul: Is that so?

Randomness: Yup...but I decided to interview you first...after all, your other interviews have been quite the hit recently

Sammul: So you’re using me as promotion now?

Randomness laughed: oh no...That’s a silly idea...what am I promoting?

Sammul: Your new project of this series of interviews

Randomness: Nope...not promoting...it’s just I was inspired by you to begin with...

Sammul: So, I was your inspiration

Randomness: Yup...so...let’s get right into business...over the past couple of interviews you had...I think other interviewers were trying to hint at your disputes with othe colleagues

Sammul: Do you think so?

Randomness: I thought I was the interviewer...

Sammul: Right...well...I don’t know, I’d rather not make assumptions

Randomness: Ok...so...I’m not going to repeat questions that the others already asked you...but...you said you didn’t want to see Ron again?

Sammul: I’ve worked with him in far too many series...it’s like I’m tired of seeing him

Randomness: Even if it’s another instalment for The Academy?

Sammul: well...I’d like that. You know, Pak Kiu and Lap Man went through a lot together...their chemistry was building...true brotherhood bonding

Randomness: Bromance?

Sammul laughed: Is that the term you use now?

Randomness: I think so...

Sammul: Ok...sure...we had some bromance going on then I guess (He laughed), and it would be nice to see more of their chemistry or something...but in the third instalment, the focus seemed to have been diverted to Laughing Gor

Randomness: Who became an infamous character

Sammul: I guess...but he took away from the Pak Kiu and Lap Man story...

Randomness: Like a third wheel?

Sammul: No...it’s like...if we were all women...Laughing Gor had the most cleavage

Randomness laughed: That’s an interesting analogy

Sammul: But it works

Randomness: Ya...it does. So, how do you feel about your picture being relatively small compared to others on the poster of Relic?

Sammul: I don’t know...mixed emotions really.

Randomness: How come?

Sammul: Obviously, I’d want a bigger picture...that’s the ego that every single actor has...but on the other hand, the picture that they had of me wasn’t so flattering

Randomness: Really? I didn’t notice

Sammul: That’s because my picture was relatively small...but really...I look slightly bloated

Randomness: So, I guess it was a good thing in the end?

Sammul: You can say that

Randomness: So, how did it feel to work with Laughing Gor again?

Sammul: He’s still the one showing the most cleavage

Randomness: What?

Sammul: Well...I mean, he has lots of intimate scenes and so on...

Randomness: Oh...ok

Sammul: Any other questions?

Randomness: Sorry...I’m kind of green at this interviewing business...

Sammul: That’s ok...we were all ‘green’ once...you just got to learn from your mistakes and move on

Randomness: So...which TVB actress did you have the best chemistry with?

Sammul: I’m not sure...I’m usually paired up with a lot of different actresses but I think the fans liked me with Leila the best...and I worked with Myolie quite a bit too...

Randomness: Have you worked with Tavia?

Sammul: Of course...The Academy

Randomness: But, never paired up

Sammul: Nope...

Randomness: Would you like to?

Sammul: Maybe...but she and Ron are close...so...that might mean I’d have to see him around (starts laughing)

Randomness: That’s true...I’ll tell him to stay away from Tavia if she ever collaborates with you

Sammul still laughing: Ya...tell him that

Randomness: well...I think we should wrap things up...so...thanks for coming in for an ‘off the record’ interview

Sammul: Not a problem, and thanks for having me...if this becomes successful...I better get some credit for it (laughs)

Randomness laughed: Of course, you deserve the credit since you’re the inspiration

Sammul continues to laugh: Now that’s how you treat an artist

Randomness: Hope you all enjoyed this short interview and first episode of Off the Records. Please leave a comment telling me what you think of this ‘project.’ And, next week, my guest for the ‘show’ will be...(take a wild guess)

Why TVB, Why?

Howdy folks,

I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on the current TVB news and such. No, I'm not going to share any thoughts on the Raymond Lam scandal here...those thoughts...well...they'll obviously be in my update of The Stalker...DUH! But, I'm going to comment on what Sammul Chan recently said in an interview about TVB promoting others who are their 'biological' sons and daughters. I thought that he brought quite a good point to the table. In recent years the shocker of all shockers was when at a TVB anniversary TVB gave their best actor and actress award to well-deserving candidates, Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai, respectively. But...then TVB does something that's ridiculous.

And what did they do? Well...they played along with all of the hype generated and decided to make another series starring those two...which I have yet to watch because...I don't have the patience to do so. But what TVB also went on with was the Laughing gor character. Sure, his character was interesting...but...why TVB, WHY? Why did there have to be a movie, why did there have to be a reference to this Laughing gor character in your other series, WHY is there now a series that is strictly on Laughing gor, WHY?

Being a person who grew up watching TVB series...Michael Tse has never once crossed my mind as a great actor...he is no Wayne Lai...he is no Bobby Au Yeung...who all sprouted out to become leading actors through playing various supporting roles. Michael Tse got lucky with playing Laughing gor, because that character was indeed 'well-written' and I'm using this term VERY loosely. However, Michael Tse did impress me at one point in La Femme Desperado...but...again, his 'partner' was Sheren Tang, whose acting I have always loved.

So...TVB is promoting Michael Tse. So far this year he has one series released and another to be released. I know at this point Michael Tse supporters are going to attack me for saying this...but...WHY? Yes, it's true that TVB has already released two series with Kevin Cheng, two with Steven Ma, and two that has Bosco Wong (Yes, I'm just talking about male actors, don't worry...probably when Yes Sir, No Sir airs...I WILL have something to say about...Tavia Yeung). But...you see, readers, people of the world who have stumbled upon this blog...the characters that those actors played varied...but...for Michael Tse...he has been type-casted.

As you can see...even if he isn't type-casted...his facial expressions are identical...yes...Laughing gor is undercover as YUE CHI-HIU (on the left) and has time-traveled to become Ngo Siu-fung (on the right)...NO WAY!

I am actually very sick and tired of having to see Laughing gor in so many series...I mean Michael Tse...that I might just not watch Emissary...even though I do miss Sammul Chan. TVB should have let Pak-Kiu shine instead of marry that wooden girl...whose name is totally not part of my memory. To be very honest, I would've much preferred another installment of The Academy with Sammul and Ron leading the series...especially because from the last installment, not only did they share greater chemistry compared to previous series (which makes sense), but their acting has also improved...yes, Ron Ng's acting has slowly but surely improved.

So...WHY TVB, WHY?

A Truthful Lie: Ch 22

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Ch 22

Ron: So, any plans for today? Maybe a date with Mr. Chan?

Myolie: No date with Mr. Chan...but...I think I’m supposed to meet up with my dad for lunch today, you could join us if you want

Ron: I don’t want to interfere with the father-daughter lunch date now…do I?

Myolie: I don’t think he would mind, actually he’d probably be ecstatic and have some ideas of his own why I decided to invite you along

Ron laughed: Of course, the matchmaking...and to think I almost forgot that we supposedly were meant to be...which reminds me of the blabbering I did last night...sorry about that, though the proposal was actually legitimate

Myolie: Well, I can’t just easily accept any proposal you know. After all I’m the only child of the Wu family

Ron chuckled: I’ll keep that in mind, and I’ll propose again another time...properly

Myolie: So? Are you going to come along?

Ron: Maybe next time...send my best regards to uncle...

Myolie: Alright...so what are you going to do for the day? Be a father again?

Ron chuckled: I think I’d like to take a break from playing such a great father figure for the day...maybe I’ll do what I usually do on days off...

Myolie: Flirt and sleep around?

Ron shook his head: And to think I called you my best friend in the whole-wide world...I’m going surfing, catch some waves...well if they’re decent. If not, I’ll just get a tan and do some flirting...

Myolie: Surfing? Sounds like you...but...flirting around sounds MORE like you

Ron laughed: True...or maybe I won’t do any of that at all...but I’ll find something to occupy myself with...maybe a book, some music, a movie...normal things...

Myolie: A woman?

Ron: Come on...in your eyes am I really that type of guy? You know I’m much deeper than that...

Myolie placed a hand on his shoulder: You’re a great guy...it’s just I think too many women tend to fall for you or go after you...that it’s difficult for you not to flirt around, sleep around...those playboy like behaviours...but if you had nothing...I think you’d be the perfect boyfriend, the perfect husband and the perfect father

Ron smiled and wrapped his arms around her: Of all people I’ve met in my life and called my friends, you’re the only one who knows me...

Myolie smiled: You’re starting to sound like a corny old man...

Ron: I guess the truth sounds corny...

All of a sudden they both heard a knock on the door and Myolie went to open it

Myolie: Dad?

Myolie’s Dad: I thought I’d drop by early to see what you’re up to...and then we could drive there together (He walked inside and saw Ron standing there) Am I interrupting something?

Ron chuckled: Of course not Uncle John...how are you?

John: I’ve been good...but I think your father’s been a lot better...especially after you decided to come back to his company and all

Ron: Oh, that’s good...maybe I should get going...so I won’t interrupt the two of you

John: Oh no, don’t leave so soon...join us for lunch, I haven’t seen you in a while or heard any ‘news’ about you lately...we should catch up

Ron chuckled: Are you sure, you know...both you and Myolie are always so busy, you barely get a chance to see each other...and I don’t want to be the third wheel or anything

John: Don’t be silly, we’re practically family...how about I call your dad too

Ron: You don’t have to do that

But John already got his phone and dialled away, telling Ron’s dad to meet them at the restaurant in an hour or so to have lunch.

~ Chez La Mere restaurant~

By the time Ron, Myolie, and her father arrived at the restaurant, Ron’s dad was already waiting for them at their table.

John: Damian! It’s been quite some time, hasn’t it

Damian smiled: it definitely has been…the last time we saw each other was a month or so ago at a charity golf tournament, wasn’t it

John laughed: Your memory really serves you well

Damian looked over at Ron: How do you like working at our own company?

Ron: It’s not as bad as I thought…

Damian: I’m glad you’re back…

Ron: How’s aunty?

Damian: She’s doing well…

Ron: And sister-in-law?

Damian: I think she’s pregnant…your brother is going to be ecstatic

Ron: Really? Wow…that’s wonderful

Damian: You should come over some time…and we’ll sit together to have a meal

John: why do you two speak with such formality? You’re family after all…

Myolie: Dad…

John: Yes, sweetie

Myolie: Maybe we should order something to eat

John: Of course…I’ll just tell the manager to get us the usual specials…and while we wait for the food we can discuss about the two of you (looking at Ron and Myolie)

Myolie: Dad…

John: There’s nothing to be embarrassed about

Ron chuckled: There’s really nothing to discuss about us…

Myolie: Exactly, we’re just friends

John: Just friends…you know your mother and I we were merely acquaintances when we started dating…and your dad and your mom, Ron…they’re marriage was completely arranged, not knowing who each other were until the day they got married…while the two of you…

Myolie: Well…Ron already has a girlfriend

Ron looked at Myolie: I do?

John: He does? Then why aren’t there headlines about it?

Myolie: Because…there aren’t

Damian looking at Myolie: Your dad told me that Ron stayed the night at your place. I’ve been married twice and no woman in her right mind would let her husband or boyfriend stay at another woman’s place, overnight…

Myolie: Well…

Ron: Myolie’s just making things up…I don’t have a girlfriend…but there’s really nothing more to the two of us other than a really good friendship. Myolie’s great and I love her to death…but at the moment I love her as a friend and nothing else…

John: Feelings can change over time you know…

Myolie: What Ron said is true…there’s nothing between us except for a really good friendship that I wouldn’t trade for anything else in the world

Damian: And marrying your best friend isn’t a good thing?

Ron: It could be...but...let’s just say for we’d both rather be friends

Ron looked at Myolie and she smiled back at him...there was definitely a very strong mutual understanding between the two of them that would make onlookers assume that they were more, much more than just friends.

~ one week later~

Everything was back to normal...Ron was at work, Leila was back and Tavia, she was still wonderful as always in Ron’s mind.

Sitting in his office he would look out of his window, to catch a glimpse of Tavia in hers...and then an idea entered his mind. He got up, out of his office and went over to hers.

He knocked twice before she responded and he entered

Tavia: What can I do for you, Mr. Ng?

Ron: Join me for dinner tonight?

Tavia: Excuse me?

Ron: Dinner...you, me...at the Bistro...tonight

Tavia: Ron...you’ve got to be kidding me...

Ron: Nope...I’ve been wanting to ask you out for a while now...but I knew that it wasn’t the right time...and for some reason...I felt that now is the right time. I know it’s hard for you to say yes to me...since I’ve been a horrible boyfriend in the past...but, I sincerely hope that I could change your mind...because I’m changing myself

Tavia: Really?

Ron took out his phone and showed her a picture of Leila, Jacky and himself at Disneyland

Tavia: You look like a happy little family...that’s great

Ron: That’s what I want...but this picture here isn’t a picture of my family...but it showed me how great a family would be...the smile on the kid’s face is just so contagious... I just hope one day I could have a family of my own...and I was hoping...that you’d start that family with me...

Tavia: Wow...I would’ve never imagined the day Ron Ng would want to settle down and start a family. Back when we were together I used to think that that was exactly what you wanted...but I was wrong...you didn’t want to settle down back then...you just wanted someone who would always be there by your side...I thought you loved me, and that was why you wanted me

Ron: I did love you, and I still do...and now I’m ready...to take on that responsibility of being a proper boyfriend that I never was. It’s only right for you to let me make it up to you...so...dinner tonight? We’ll take it one step at a time?

Tavia looked at him and it was that look in his eyes that she fell in love with so long ago...a sincere look that seemed to have faded as their relationship continued and eventually ended.

Ron: Please?

Tavia: I might end up regretting this...but...sure

Ron’s face lit up like a little boy who just got a wonderful new toy or was being treated with a giant lollypop...she couldn’t have said no to him...not when a part of her was also very much in love with him.

================================

YAY!!!...See...I said I would...and I did...

How do you like it? I just couldn't help but add more Ron and Myolie scenes...and for those of you who were looking forward to more RL moments...I can assure you, you'll be getting those soon...well soon enough.

Alright...leave me a comment or as many comments as possible lol...and I'll be back with another update (not for this fanfic but for a different one) in a few days or next week

A Series of Unexpected Events: Chapter 1

An Innocent Affair

Character: Raymond Lam

I’ve been doing this for years, and I’ve helped so many individuals feel better about themselves, being a psychiatrist isn’t that stressful of job. It feels great, but sometimes it keeps me away from what matters most in life, love...my family. I never thought things could become like this...I never thought I’d end up doing things that could potentially hurt my family, my wife...

My wife and I, we’ve been married for a little over eight years now...we could’ve had a child who would be turning seven this year...but...she died inside her mother’s womb...my wife’s womb. I don’t blame my wife for the loss of our child, in fact I know that she was in even greater pain than I was when it happened, but there was nothing neither of us could do. We lost our child before she could see the wonders of this world, yes, I could have had a daughter who would be turning seven.

They say having a child brings the two parents together, but facing the loss of a child doesn’t really help in that way. My wife started to drift apart from me, she felt guilty for having lost our child even though it was obviously not her fault. We had gone shopping for baby clothes and as we took the escalator down, there apparently was a robbery. The robber rushed down the escalator along with the security guards and ended up knocking over my beloved wife, thus, causing the loss of our child. The doctor told us that my wife couldn’t bear another child after that incident and well...now I’m just sitting in my office waiting patiently for my next patient to come in instead of calling home and asking when my wife will go and pick up our little sweetheart.

My next patient, she’s special to me not because she’s beautiful but because she’s so innocent. A tragedy had occurred in her life when she was in her twenties causing her now to have the mental capacity of an eight year old while being trapped in the body of a thirty year old woman. She takes life so light-heartedly and is amazed by absolutely everything. Sometimes it feels as though God has brought her to me to fill the void in my heart that was meant for my own daughter, but it’s not the same.

After the accident my patient lost her memory, lost her ability to function at the mental capacity that she should be functioning at and relied solely on her younger brother because a few years prior to her accident the two of them had already lost their parents. His entire world ended up revolving around her and her world was dependent upon him...until she met me. For some reason I offered all the help I could give her, and I ended up giving her all of my time and now...her world...is me.

Macy walked in holding the file of the following patient, a young woman by the name of Charmaine Sheh. Her case was brought to Dr Lam’s attention after the previous doctor who was working on that case until he immigrated to another country. Being the student of that previous doctor, Dr. Lam felt as though he should take the case and has been looking after this young lady for almost a year now.

Macy placed the file upon Dr. Lam’s desk...

Macy: Dr. Lam, should I call the last patient in, or do you want to go out there and call her in yourself?

Raymond: I’ll do it.

He followed his secretary out of his office and into the waiting area where his patient and her younger brother were sitting.

Charmaine had a huge smile on her innocent face as she saw Dr. Lam coming out of his office to greet her.

Charmaine: Dr. Lam!

Raymond walked over: How are you today? Everything’s going well?

Charmaine nodded in excitement: Are we playing games today?

Raymond shook his head: Not today...but we’ll do something even more fun

Charmaine: Yay! Him, did you hear that? Dr. Lam said that today I get to do something even more fun than playing games

Her younger brother nodded

Raymond: Why won’t you leave your sister here with me...and take Macy to dinner or something

Him’s face turned red

Raymond chuckled: I knew that there was something between the two of you a while ago, so you don’t have to be embarrassed. Have fun...and I’ll drive your sister back once we’re done with today’s session

Him: Are you sure? I could come pick her up...and

Raymond shook his head: It’s fine, don’t worry about it (He turned to look at Macy) Don’t stay out too late though, we have a 7:30 appointment tomorrow

Macy: Don’t worry Dr. Lam, I’ll be on time like usual...and I’ll be able to make you a nice cup of coffee before your first patient comes

Raymond smiled: It was definitely a good idea hiring you, well you two have fun.

Raymond walked Charmaine into his office and closed the doors behind him.

Charmaine: So, what games are we going to play today? Are you going to take me to the park and let me go on the swings... (she put a finger on her chin) maybe you’re going to take me to the amusement park because I’m such a good little girl...and then (she gasps in excitement) you’re going to let me eat cotton candy and buy me ice cream!

Raymond laughed at the overly excited Charmaine who was now literally jumping up and down in pure excitement from her vision of the session she was going to have with him.

Raymond: I’m sorry, but not today...I was actually planning on taking you shopping

Charmaine: Shopping? For toys?

Raymond shook his head: Not for toys...

Charmaine pouted and took a seat

Raymond: I was thinking of getting you a beautiful outfit, a nice new dress...maybe a purse...whatever you like

Charmaine thought for a moment: A new dress sounds good...but I still want a new toy...

Raymond: How about...a new dress...and a big teddy bear?

Unexpectedly Charmaine got up from her seat, ran over to Raymond and gave him a big hug. He wasn’t sure how to react to her spontaneous act...but decided to hug her back...and unexpectedly a smile crept upon his face

Finally Charmaine freed herself from the embrace with a slight blush on her face. Raymond assumed that Charmaine was embarrassed by her action, which was completely normal and didn’t depend upon what mental age group she belonged to. To him she was as true and as pure as any other child...with the only difference being the fact that she was radiant and he felt himself being drawn even closer to her as they spend more time together.

A little while after the two of them headed out the office, Raymond closing the doors behind him and locking the place up, while the energy filled Charmaine was already prancing ahead. Raymond caught up to her and led her to his car, and off they went on yet another interesting outing.

He parked his car along the side of the road and the two of them got out. Immediately Charmaine walked over and grabbed onto his hand, like she would do if she was out with her younger brother. She was told by her younger brother that she should hold someone’s hand when she’s out so that she wouldn’t get lost, and it became a habit.

Raymond looked down at his hands, which intertwined with hers...this wasn’t the first time she held his hand, but everytime she did...he felt a little something. Only seconds later did she let go of his hand and ran towards the glass window of a shop and stared intently at a beautiful night gown. Even though she was ‘young’ she still admired the beautiful dresses that women who were her age physically would wear.

Raymond: Do you want to take a look?

Charmaine: My brother says we can’t afford dresses like that...

Raymond: I can, and...I’ll be paying...so, let’s go in

It seemed as though her eyes sparkled as they filled with excitement when Raymond told her that they could go in and take a look...

Raymond walked over to one of the female staff and asked her if she could possibly get Charmaine the dress that was on display in the window. Moments later she came back with the dress in what she assumed to be Charmaine’s size and handed Raymond the dress.

Raymond: Try this on...

Charmaine: Are you sure? (she looked at the price tag) But this costs so much...and my brother says...

Raymond: It doesn’t cost to try something on now, does it?

Charmaine shook her head and followed Raymond’s order to try on the dress. He waited for her patiently while browsing through the other selection of dresses that the store had. When she stepped out of the change room, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her...she was, beautiful

Staff: Sir, your girlfriend looks amazing in the dress...

Raymond: She’s not my...she does look amazing...

Staff: You two look really good together

Raymond smiled and walked towards Charmaine

Charmaine: I look so silly in this dress, don’t I? I think it’s a bit too much for my age...I’m only eight...and you don’t see other eight year olds dress like this, do you?

Raymond: Well, other eight year olds aren’t as special as you, are they?

Charmaine looked in the mirror and saw her reflection standing next to Raymond’s...

Charmaine: You look like a prince today, wearing all white...

Raymond: And you look like a princess in that dress...

Charmaine smiled brightly: We should get married, when I’m older...then I can be your princess, and you can be my prince charming

She started giggling to herself and walked back into the change room to change into her normal outfit

A Series of Unexpected Events: Foreword

Howdy,

This new fanfic will definitely not take more than a year to complete...that I can guarantee. A short fanfic that will indeed be something to think about is what I’m trying to aim for. Please don’t worry about me not being able to finish my other fanfics for they will also be nearing completion by the end of this summer.

They say in life, it’s always the little things that count. It’s not always about what you give but rather how you give it...and sometimes the way you do certain things convey a totally different meaning, different from the one you originally intended to give with. Yes, it’s the little things that count, and it’s the little things that lead to a world of unexpected consequences – good or bad.

Sometimes a good intention leads to something more than one would expect or rather something unexpected. Each word, each phrase used can be taken in and understood differently than what was said. In fact everything is open to interpretation...and we all know interpretation is a dangerous thing.

This fanfic will follow the lives of our many main characters, understanding them, people around them and how these characters view the world as well as themselves. If you’ve ever watched movies like Valentine’s Day or Crash...you would understand how this fanfic will work. My plan is to have every chapter narrated by a different character (or have a monologue) and in that way you will then be able to see things from their eyes and of course feel a deeper connection to the character.

I do hope that EVERYONE will enjoy this rather ‘interesting’ and ‘different’ fanfic. One important thing to note is that this fanfic will only be posted up on my blog and nowhere else. The video below consists of a series of pictures that will allow everyone to see the cast of this fanfic and the music in the background is written by me specifically for it.

Remember to leave me a few comments either on the cbox or HERE!!!! Actually if you leave a comment here...you'll find out when the next update will be ^_^

Enjoy!

New Fanfic: A Series of Unexpected Events

WHAT??? That's what you're probably saying at the moment just by looking at the title of the post. And then you're probably thinking " You're kidding right? You still have THREE unfinished fanfics and you want to start another one? Don't you think you're in WAY OVER your HEAD?" And my reply to that is...maybe...but by the end of summer Take 2 and A Truthful Lie will both be over...so...I thought I'd start a new one...now?

As you can tell...this is the exact same thing (or similar thing) as my banner...surprised? Obviously not! I also made an trailer for this fanfic, so please check that out...I'm going to post the foreword of the fanfic up on July 1st...so keep an eye out and it will most definitely be on this blog...so do visit me here!

Mysteries of Love (My thoughts, thus far)

Instead of updating one of my fanfics (A Truthful Lie), I decided to write a blog entry about the current series, Mysteries of Love. I've been reading great reviews about the series and even the TV ratings in Hong Kong are relatively high compared to the other series that are currently airing. Because of such incidents I decided to give the series a try, other than the fact that I have been secretly waiting for Raymond to once again appear in a series.

I have also read comments about how this series had plagarized the Japanese series 'Detective Galileo' and I must say those comments are somewhat false. I have watched a few episodes of Detective Galileo before and it was a good watch, however, I never had the chance to finish because I forgot the site and I became too busy with other stuff to find it again. The biggest difference between the two is the fact that Detective focused more on the cases, which of course captured its intended audience's attention. On the other hand Mysteries focused a lot more on the relationship aspects.

For example, I'm only on episode 9 and Tavia has already fallen head over heals for Raymond, and she had fallen in love with him several episodes prior. On the other hand 'Detective' mostly had Galileo and the female officer as a bickering duo...and their relationship is built on their numerous encounters with one another...which seemed to be lacking for Raymond and Tavia. Personally, I don't think admiration for one's talent adds up to falling in love with that person, hence, I find Mysteries a bit too unrealistic in the love department.

Another thing I must say about Mysteries is the fact that Kenneth does not fit the role of a womanizer. Sure, he has that intolerable smirk on his face and a few unbuttoned buttons on his shirt, but that does not equate to a womanizer. He doesn't really seem to fit the role whatsoever and frankly I'd rather see Bosco take on that role, or even better to have Ron take that role. Hmm...actually Kenneth and Raymond should even switch roles...that would be the actual sight to see.

At the moment, I don't find Mysteries to be spectacular at all, or even close to deserving such rave reviews. I'm pretty sure most people who are watching the series are watching it because of the cast which consists of Raymond Lam. Without a doubt if that role was replaced by another TVB actor who have been appearing quite frequently on TV screens (ie Kevin) the reaction would be completely different.

I also think that the lack of focus on the cases make the cases quite simple, rather than complexed like the ones in Detective. I would rather have more complicated and detailed cases rather than simple cases with a love story shoved everywhere. The physics behind some of the early cases that I'm watching currently seems to be quite simple, and being a non-physics expert...I think such incidents in the series could even be explained through common sense. This leads me to wonder about a few things...

1. Why would you ask a physics professor to explain something so simple?
2. Is it cheap to hire a physics professor?
3. Did the police officers lose their common sense?
4. Why do they call Raymond's character Professor King? I thought his last name would be Chinese. And, I thought they would call him Doctor _____ instead
5. Wouldn't it be interesting if Kenneth and Tavia got together instead? lol

I think that's about it for now...I'll obviously continue to watch it because I still have hopes for the latter episodes...and I'll probably write another blog about it once I get a chance to finish it.

Tell me what your thoughts are of MOL at the moment!

oh, and stick around...in a few days I will be updating my fanfics...as well as something special!

2009: A Year in Review: Just a few series

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I can't believe that 2009 is over and that we are currently in the year 2010...I think time totally flew by and it left me a tad bit confused. For some reason I felt that 2009 was one of my least productive years...to think about it...I seem to have not been able to finish any of my fanfics, my grades in university were not what I had hoped for and finally...the series that were out this year were definitely not up to par.

So…I started writing a year end review right before the year ended…yet I couldn’t complete it. I didn’t know of a creative way to show you my view of 2009. However, I figured it out…I’ll use something that I learned in school to convey my message across.

First off, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who continuously supported me and my fanfics over the years and that I truly believe that the motivation that keeps me writing is from your support. I know not everyone who reads, comments, but that’s a given for I, myself am a silent reader (for the most part). Academically, 2009 wasn’t the greatest year for me. I haven’t done as well as I would’ve liked…and so I’m making sure 2010 will be 100 folds better. So far, I’m starting off well, I’m doing my readings and I feel on top of things…but then again it only has been a few days into the term, so hopefully I can keep it up.

Anyways, as I stated previously, I will convey my view of 2009 using something I learned in school…and I did this last year as well when I wrote my year end review…so…what exactly am I going to use? Well…GRAPHS...and other stuff

As you can see from my not so clear graphs, I watched almost 50% of the series produced this year (I included those that were warehoused, and excluded shows like Chip, Beauty and Watchdog) However, of the series I did watch...I only enjoyed three of them. Yes, just THREE. They were You're Hired, Rosy Business and E.U.

And actually...I found myself enjoying You're Hired the most...it was a really entertaining series...I'm not saying that it was the best produced...but in my perspective it was definitely the most enjoyable. Now, you're probably wondering whether or not I've watched the anniversary series like Beyond and Born Rich...and my answer is...I started to...but gave up on both of them.

At first I did enjoy both series, especially Born Rich...but then it occurred to me...that there was just too much talking in both of them. It was always about people being evil, trying to gain more and more and other people bickering...and it wasn't even that witty bickering, it was just nonsensical...and so...i gave up on watching both of them. Beyond was the series that really ticked me off. Why...why must TVB create series with so much talking, so much glaring, and so much make-up? Why? Why?

So...I managed to watch the beginning and the end of both of those series...I used that trick that Power Chan spoke of in You're hired. Where, when people read long reports, they tend to look at the first few pages and the last few...and skip the middle...that's what I did...and from doing so I learned two valuable lessons...one from each of the two grand productions.

Lesson from Beyond: make-up is proportional to evilness...the more make-up you have on...the more evil you are

Lesson from Born Rich: In this day and age, always get a proper DNA test done before you call someone family

Thank you TVB for teaching me two valuable lessons.

And now to continue my review of 2009...let's see...remember how last year I said TVB gave Bosco too many useless roles...well...once again Bosco got more useless roles...and I realized that Kevin is good-looking...but must he always play those prince charming like roles? BF3, which I gave up on...was terrible...why did the producer make Kevin such a Hero and Wong He such a loser? Is it because kevin is better looking? Well...in my opinion...I find Wong He so much more manly...and portraying him as someone with low self-esteem and making him from the king of the world, to the world's slave...was too harsh. I didn't get it...and thus, i gave up on BF3. BF is Wong He's thing...so...the good news is...this probably means there won't be any more BF. Yay for no more crappy sequels to one franchise of series ^_^

I guess we'll end here for today...

So...until next time...I wish everyone a fantastic year, with great health, happiness and success...

In the Eyes of Randomness

Ok...I know this post is a totally random one that I didn't even expect myself to put up...but I had to. As I was reading through my biochem textbook and got bored...I started to browse the internet for something that might interest me. And that was when I saw it...I don't know about you...but for some VERY VERY odd reason this reminds me of Twilight. If you've been reading my blog and saw my vlog you would know I'm not much of a Twilight fan...but that's besides the point. So...tell me what you think of this poster...does it remind you of Twilight? New Moon? Or...am I totally bored from reading biochem and making weird connections?

Side note: I'm not exactly looking forward to this series, I definitely don't have high expectations for it even though it has quite the outstanding cast. I do hope that it will be an enjoyable series and not another hyped up flop.

Tell me what you think!
