Yours Truly, Stranger (Ch 2)

I'm really sorry for not updating my blog as frequently as I said I would. It's just that I'm kind of busy trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, and that's not a joke. Honestly, it sucks to know that you don't know what you want...and it sucks even more when everyone around you continue to treat you like a little kid telling you what you should and should not do. Anyways, here's the second chapter.

Ch 2: Hello Stranger

Sometimes we don’t notice how fast time flies until we look ourselves in the mirror and notice that we’ve changed. Maybe it’s the hair style, the loss of that baby fat in our cheeks or even a grey hair or two, regardless; they’re all signs and symptoms of aging and what comes with it. Ten years flew by quicker than he could’ve ever imagined, and still no reply from the person he hoped he would get to know. He checked his email every day, just hoping to get a reply, an email that wasn’t spam sent to his inbox at yours.truly.stranger@gmail.com

Raymond: Dude, you’re going to make us late for work

Ron: I’ll be out after I check my email

Raymond: What are you, 60? You can check your email on your phone! Data!

Ron: Ok, I’m done...let’s go

Raymond: Just synch up that email address on to your phone already...or pick a better time to check your email...what’s with 8:00 AM, every day? Who in the world sends emails that early anyways?

Ron: I get it...

Raymond: No...I don’t think so...because I’ve been telling you that since we moved here, exactly three years ago

Ron: I didn’t have data then

Raymond: That’s not the point

Ron laughed: The longer we live together the more you sound like my sister

Raymond: Ha-ha, very funny...my voice is so much more soothing than your sister’s

Ron: Speaking of my sister...she invited you over for dinner tomorrow

Raymond: I thought it’s a family dinner

Ron: Well...Leila’s going to be there too

Raymond: That’s because she’s your girlfriend, possibly your sister’s future sister-in-law

Ron: But you and I, we live together...practically brothers...so my sister considers you family

Raymond: Alright, I’ll be there...unless I have to work overtime again

Ron: I doubt it...

~Next day~

Ron logged onto his email at exactly 8 in the morning, and to his surprise he received a response.

~Email~

Dear Stranger,

I was quite surprised when I found your bottle floating in the water near the Bay area. I really didn’t expect to actually see a letter inside, but somehow there it was. Originally, I thought it might’ve been a prop for a movie that somehow got lost, but my friend told me to respond to you through the email provided anyways. Hopefully, this letter isn’t a prop and you’ll promptly reply to me.

Yours truly,

W.

~End~

Even though the person’s email was rather short, this was the best feeling he had ever felt. It was the feeling of closure, however anticlimactic it was and he was looking forward to their future exchanges. He immediately responded

~Reply~

Hello W,

This is definitely not a prop from a movie set that got lost, that I can assure you. It’s a little experiment of fate I wanted to try out as a teenager. I didn’t expect to actually receive a response, but I always hoped that one day I would. Thank you for taking your friend’s advice and replying to the letter. I hope that we could continue these exchanges in the future and maybe get to know one another a bit. Don’t worry; I’m not some old man trying to prey on the young or some crazy person either...and by saying those things I probably sound iffy to you. Anyways, I hope that you’ll email me back soon.

Yours truly,

Stranger

~end~

Raymond: Dude, hurry up! (He peeked into Ron’s room) Did you just send an email?

Ron smirked: Yup

Raymond: No way! Someone found it

Ron: Yup

Raymond: Is she hot?

Ron: What?

Raymond: Uh, she’s probably a she

Ron: What type of conclusion is that?

Raymond: Ok, seriously, what guy would respond to some romantic letter in a bottle about fate

Ron: It wasn’t romantic

Raymond: Fate...Ron, you wrote about fate

Ron: So? Guys can believe in fate

Raymond: Right...so, is she hot?

Ron: It was an email, not a twit pic

Raymond: What’s her name?

Ron: Don’t know, the Person just wrote W

Raymond: W...Wendy? Wanda? Wynona? No...Whitney, or Willow

Ron: Are we going over the possible girl names starting with a W for your future daughter?

Raymond: Anyone of those could possibly be the person’s name

Ron: We didn’t even confirm that she’s female

Raymond: You know what I forgot...she could be using her last name initial

Ron: Ok, you got to stop with your nonsense...I thought we were going to be late

Raymond: It’s ok...we need to find out who she is and if she’s hot?

Ron: Really? Are you that desperate?

Raymond: Nope, just curious about what type of woman she is and whether or not she’s hot, and whether or not she’s a threat to your relationship with Leila and most importantly if she’s single

Ron: Hold up! How could this person be a threat to my relationship with Leila?

Raymond: Well...haven’t you heard about all of those facebook relationships becoming a reality? Like some man married another woman on facebook and then divorced his wife. But the point is, if your exchanges with this person continues, you guys bond, become friends and then start sharing your deepest thoughts and all of that emotional stuff...Ron my friend, that is what we call an emotional affair. See, men cannot tolerate their counterparts having a physical affair, but women are most against their counterpart having an emotional affair. So, heed my advice, and be very careful.

Ron: Wow, this is what I get for telling you about a letter and an email

Raymond: Hello...I’m a shrink, and a very good one at that, mind you

Ron laughed: And how much will I be charged for my therapy session Dr. Lam?

Raymond: It’s on the house, this time. But I swear, if you and Leila run into some ‘relationship’ problems, or you realize that this person, who I’m going to continue to assume is female by sex or gender, becomes more involved in your life than she should be, we really should have a proper session

Ron: Fine...but until this person replies to my email, we’re going to assume that none of this happened and tonight at dinner, you’re not going to say anything about it at all

Raymond: Deal!

~ Dinner~

Leila: Jessica, you have to tell me the recipe to this, it’s amazing

Jessica: Really? I thought I’d give it a try

Raymond: Obviously, she’s using us to test a new recipe for her restaurant

Jessica: The shrink always think I have an ulterior motive when I treat my little brother and his friends to dinner

Ron laughed: Our shrink is always very suspicious, but sis that does seem to fit the trend of a new dish that appears on your menu a few weeks after we try it out

Jessica: Fine, I’ll admit that I needed a second, third and fourth opinion on this, and from your girlfriend, this dish is definitely a good one

Ron put his arm around Leila: Her choices are always good

Leila: Are you trying to flatter yourself?

Ron smiled and kissed her

Raymond: Really guys, at the dinner table?

Jessica laughed: It’s ok Raymond, as long as it’s not on the dinner table

=====================

I hope you enjoyed it...also, the email does work, I just thought that it would be interesting if you could email me like a response or something in the perspective of this mysterious person...or something...

Anyways, I hope you'll leave me a comment or two...and I'll try to update more frequently. Also, if you're interested, follow me on instagram @standingonchair

Off the Record: Episode 1

Howdy folks,

Since exams are just around the corner for me and well...my fanfics are all getting kind of serious...which makes them kind of hard to write...and I’ve sort of ran out of series to watch...I’ve decided I’m going to start this series of blog posts. So...it’s called, as you can see Off the Records...and once again it’s inspired by the interviews that were given by Sammul Chan lately. So...it’s going to be FICTIONAL interviews with the many actors and actresses that I often have in my fanfics...and...well...it’ll be entertaining...because that’s exactly what I need during this exam period. So, to start off...the first ‘Episode’ will be with Sammul Chan

Episode 1:

Randomness: Hello people of the world...yes...usually, I’m just the author of your fanfics...but today...I shall take a part in this interesting project I decided to start up and interview the many artists that I feature in my fanfics in a series of interviews. So, without further ado, Sammul Chan!

Sammul : Hello everyone, and hello to you too, Randomness

Randomness: I got to be frank...I’m somewhat of a fan of yours (giggles awkwardly)

Sammul: I’m flattered, and thanks for having me as your first guest

Randomness: Well...it was a tossup between you and Ron Ng

Sammul: Is that so?

Randomness: Yup...but I decided to interview you first...after all, your other interviews have been quite the hit recently

Sammul: So you’re using me as promotion now?

Randomness laughed: oh no...That’s a silly idea...what am I promoting?

Sammul: Your new project of this series of interviews

Randomness: Nope...not promoting...it’s just I was inspired by you to begin with...

Sammul: So, I was your inspiration

Randomness: Yup...so...let’s get right into business...over the past couple of interviews you had...I think other interviewers were trying to hint at your disputes with othe colleagues

Sammul: Do you think so?

Randomness: I thought I was the interviewer...

Sammul: Right...well...I don’t know, I’d rather not make assumptions

Randomness: Ok...so...I’m not going to repeat questions that the others already asked you...but...you said you didn’t want to see Ron again?

Sammul: I’ve worked with him in far too many series...it’s like I’m tired of seeing him

Randomness: Even if it’s another instalment for The Academy?

Sammul: well...I’d like that. You know, Pak Kiu and Lap Man went through a lot together...their chemistry was building...true brotherhood bonding

Randomness: Bromance?

Sammul laughed: Is that the term you use now?

Randomness: I think so...

Sammul: Ok...sure...we had some bromance going on then I guess (He laughed), and it would be nice to see more of their chemistry or something...but in the third instalment, the focus seemed to have been diverted to Laughing Gor

Randomness: Who became an infamous character

Sammul: I guess...but he took away from the Pak Kiu and Lap Man story...

Randomness: Like a third wheel?

Sammul: No...it’s like...if we were all women...Laughing Gor had the most cleavage

Randomness laughed: That’s an interesting analogy

Sammul: But it works

Randomness: Ya...it does. So, how do you feel about your picture being relatively small compared to others on the poster of Relic?

Sammul: I don’t know...mixed emotions really.

Randomness: How come?

Sammul: Obviously, I’d want a bigger picture...that’s the ego that every single actor has...but on the other hand, the picture that they had of me wasn’t so flattering

Randomness: Really? I didn’t notice

Sammul: That’s because my picture was relatively small...but really...I look slightly bloated

Randomness: So, I guess it was a good thing in the end?

Sammul: You can say that

Randomness: So, how did it feel to work with Laughing Gor again?

Sammul: He’s still the one showing the most cleavage

Randomness: What?

Sammul: Well...I mean, he has lots of intimate scenes and so on...

Randomness: Oh...ok

Sammul: Any other questions?

Randomness: Sorry...I’m kind of green at this interviewing business...

Sammul: That’s ok...we were all ‘green’ once...you just got to learn from your mistakes and move on

Randomness: So...which TVB actress did you have the best chemistry with?

Sammul: I’m not sure...I’m usually paired up with a lot of different actresses but I think the fans liked me with Leila the best...and I worked with Myolie quite a bit too...

Randomness: Have you worked with Tavia?

Sammul: Of course...The Academy

Randomness: But, never paired up

Sammul: Nope...

Randomness: Would you like to?

Sammul: Maybe...but she and Ron are close...so...that might mean I’d have to see him around (starts laughing)

Randomness: That’s true...I’ll tell him to stay away from Tavia if she ever collaborates with you

Sammul still laughing: Ya...tell him that

Randomness: well...I think we should wrap things up...so...thanks for coming in for an ‘off the record’ interview

Sammul: Not a problem, and thanks for having me...if this becomes successful...I better get some credit for it (laughs)

Randomness laughed: Of course, you deserve the credit since you’re the inspiration

Sammul continues to laugh: Now that’s how you treat an artist

Randomness: Hope you all enjoyed this short interview and first episode of Off the Records. Please leave a comment telling me what you think of this ‘project.’ And, next week, my guest for the ‘show’ will be...(take a wild guess)

New Fanfic: A Series of Unexpected Events

WHAT??? That's what you're probably saying at the moment just by looking at the title of the post. And then you're probably thinking " You're kidding right? You still have THREE unfinished fanfics and you want to start another one? Don't you think you're in WAY OVER your HEAD?" And my reply to that is...maybe...but by the end of summer Take 2 and A Truthful Lie will both be over...so...I thought I'd start a new one...now?

So...I'm starting this new one because I'll be away from June 21st to July 23rd and I've decided that because during that time I won't be able to update my other fanfics, I'll post this new one as a replacement during those weeks that I'm gone.

As you can tell...this is the exact same thing (or similar thing) as my banner...surprised? Obviously not! I also made an trailer for this fanfic, so please check that out...I'm going to post the foreword of the fanfic up on July 1st...so keep an eye out and it will most definitely be on this blog...so do visit me here!

The following is the trailer...stay tuned for more updates on this very exciting fanfic...which will ONLY be posted here and NOWHERE else!!!!

Valentine's Special: Part ONE

wow...I know...I haven't updated in forever...I'm sorry...really, I mean it. Actually I feel as though 2010 started off with a rather rough start for me, both my grades and the way I've been handling things show that. I do hope that this new lunar year will be different and I'll be on top of things. Anyways, Happy Lunar New Year! and...as many you have waited for: a short RL fanfic for this 'romantic' time of year. It will most likely be broken down into 3 parts...and so here is part one!

=======================================

The aroma of all the food being cooked in the kitchen filled the house as the TV was turned on to its maximum volume. All of a sudden the phone rang and Mary immediately went to pick it up.

Mary: Hello?

Man: Oh, Mary thank god you’re home

Mary: Something wrong Damian?

Damian: Well...Leila’s coming home today to celebrate Lunar New Year with us...but our car broke down and I was wondering if you could go pick her up for us...since she’s going to land in like 45 minutes

Mary: Oh...don’t worry, I’ll ask Shek Sau to go...why won’t you talk to him

Mary yelled out into the kitchen: Honey! Damian’s on the phone...he needs you to go and pick up Leila for him since his car broke down

Shek Sau: But I’m still decorating the house...why won’t you get our son to do it...he’s just moping around the house anyways

Mary: He’s home?

Shek Sau: Yup...anyways, just ask Damian the details and we’ll send him to pick her up...they know each other, it won’t be that difficult

Mary: Alright

~back on the phone~

Mary: Hello? Damian? Are you still there?

Damian: Yup...so...should I tell you the details?

Mary: Go ahead...

Damian: Flight number, 303, terminal 2...arriving from Australia

Mary: Got it

Damian: Thanks

~end~

Mary then went upstairs to her son’s room and knocked on his door

Mary: Ron? Are you in there?

Ron: Do you need me to go out and get you anything?

Mary slowly opened the door and walked in seeing her son just lying in bed, staring at the ceiling...

Mary: What’s wrong?

Ron: Nothing...

Mary: Shouldn’t you be out planning your Valentine’s Day to surprise Linda?

Ron: That actually won’t happen...

Mary: How come? Is she busy spending time with family?

Ron: we broke up

Mary: Broke up? What happened?

Ron: I don’t really want to talk about it now...anyways...did you need me for something

Mary: Oh...I almost forgot. Leila’s coming back today, actually in around 45 minutes and her dad can’t pick her up because his car broke down...so he asked me to pick her up...but you know how I’m a bit busy preparing for tonight’s dinner and...I was wondering if you could go pick her up

Ron: Sure...there’s no use for me moping around the house anyways...and I haven’t seen her in a while...I wonder if she grew

Mary laughed and knocked her son’s head: I guess if you can still joke around then it’s nothing too serious...well...here’s the information about her flight number and everything

Ron: Don’t worry about me...worry about what’s on the stove...I think I smell something burning

Mary immediately walked out of his room and down the stairs back to her delicacy that was starting to get a bit darker than she had wanted

Ron came downstairs, dressed and was ready to go as he poked his head into the kitchen

Ron: Mom...so I’m just going straight to the airport to pick her up, right?

Mary nodded: Yes...now hurry...she’s supposed to land soon...and you know the traffic

Ron: Ok...bye

Driving to the airport felt like the longest drive he ever took...it was funny how the only thing on his mind was why his girlfriend had broken up with him. He knew she was right about him not spending enough time with her, making her spend so much of her time with someone else...it was him who had pushed her away and into the arms of another man. But...there was no use trying to make amends to a relationship that had lost all hopes...he knew that not only was she disappointed in him...but...her heart was no longer his either...

By the time he had arrived at the airport the plane had already landed and one by one people were coming out and being greeted by their family. He stood there waiting for her...trying to get her image into his head...but it was hard since it had been at least 3 years since he saw her...

Leila had gotten all her bags and was now pushing her cart out...not only was she just coming back to celebrate Lunar New Year with her family, but she was staying for good. Apparently, the company that she was working for had opened up a new branch and it was here...in her hometown...

Leila looked around, and she couldn’t seem to see her mom or dad anywhere...it was odd because they would usually come real early to pick her up...but this time they were nowhere in sight. Suddenly she saw a familiar figure walk towards her, hands in his pocket with that silly smile on his face...

Ron: Leila?

Leila: Ron? Why are you here?

Ron: Your dad’s car broke down...and so I was sent to pick you up

Leila: Oh...

Ron: You sure have a lot of stuff for a short visit...

Leila: Well...

Ron: Ya?

Leila: Never mind...just roll the cart and take me to your car...I’m exhausted

Ron chuckled: demanding as always...and you haven’t grown at all

Leila looked at him: Very funny

Leila could easily tell from the way he looked that he wasn’t in a very good mood...but felt as though it just wasn’t the right time to ask. However, once they got on the car...she couldn’t contain herself any longer.

Ron: I can’t believe there’s so much traffic

Leila: Well...everyone is rushing home to have dinner with their families...since it IS New Year’s Eve

Ron: I guess...

Leila: So...am I taking away some of your time that you could be using to spend with your girlfriend?

Ron looked at her: What are you talking about?

Leila: You don’t look so happy...

Ron: It’s nothing...

Leila: So, your girlfriend is fine with you coming to the airport and picking me up?

Ron: There’s no girlfriend...

Leila: What? That’s impossible...the ever so popular Ron Ng...not having a girlfriend?

Ron: well...she broke up with me a few days ago...

Leila: Oh...I didn’t mean to...

Ron: It’s ok...I don’t mind...so...where’s your boyfriend? Isn’t he upset that you won’t be spending Valentine’s Day with him?

Leila looked at him: There’s no boyfriend

Ron: And how could that be?

Leila: I guess the guys there aren’t exactly my cup of tea...

Ron: So...what type of guy is your cup of tea?

==========================================

That's all for now folks. Please stay tuned for part 2 and 3, which hopefully will be posted up sometime this week...actually...part 2 definitely will be up, if I just get a few comments.

Winglin hasn't been cooperating with me lately, so it's been difficult for me to update my other fanfics, however A Truthful Lie will be up by the end of this week...and The Stalker will be up, next week...if I'm really on top of things...

well...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Best of luck to all!!!
