Christmas Special: Finale

Howdy ALL...tadaaa

========

Ron: Oh...and I thought someone like yourself would understand it better than a business man like me

Leila: Though I’m not sure what love is...I don’t think it’s a simple business transaction like you might imagine it to be...

Ron looked at her and wondered how she knew...was he that easy to read? Her eyes made her seem troubled, almost as troubled as he was and for some reason he wanted them both to forget their troubles...at least for one night.

Ron: I know it’s getting late and all...but, would you like to head out to the docks with me, we can get some nice fresh air and...

Leila: Talk some more...

Ron: Yes, just that...just like before...the two of us, staring out into the water and gazing up at the stars...but I guess since we’re in the city, stars are much harder to come by

Leila: I don’t mind about the stars...just as long as you’re there keeping me company

Her words seemed to have slipped from her mind and she was shocked to hear herself say such a thing. Tomorrow, she would be a married woman, yet in a way she was flaunting herself at him...but how could she resist? He was there, just like he was there five years ago. That same smile, that same troubled look in his eyes...so filled with worry, yet was still hopeful...

Ron looked at her and smiled: Then let’s go...did you drive here?

Leila: Ya...I think I should drive there as well...so I’ll follow your car then...assuming you drove here too

Ron: Yup...

The two of them left the little cafe and drove off into the night heading towards the dock. It was a quite night, considering it was Christmas Eve, there weren’t any ships coming in or leaving for that matter...and the two of them took a seat on a bench close to the edge of the dock.

Leila: its Christmas tomorrow...

Ron: I know...though, I’m not exactly looking forward to it

Leila: Neither am I...

Ron turned to look at her: And why’s that?

Leila: I agreed to do something I’m not entirely sure I should do, at least not in this day and age...and you?

Ron: Something along those lines...

Leila: Just out of curiosity...

Ron: Go on...

Leila: What do you think of me?

Ron laughed: Why would you ask that?

Leila: I’m just curious

Ron: Alright, to be perfectly honest, I think you’re different compared to all the other women I’ve met, but it’s what makes you absolutely amazing.

Leila’s face went a tad bit pink hearing him say that

Ron: I really do think you’re...amazing...

He couldn’t believe he was telling her such a thing, he felt horrible for leading her on...but he just couldn’t help it. He was only being honest not only to her, but to himself as well.

Leila simply looked at him and smiled. She felt her heart racing and simply wanted to be in his arms.

Leila: I think it’s getting a bit chilly

Ron: here, take my jacket

He was going to offer it to her but realized there was a better solution as he placed his arm around her and drew her in closer to his body. This was what she had hoped for, and exactly what she had received...

They continued to talk till the both of them were awfully tired and eventually nodded off without realizing. By the time they both woke up again the sun had already risen...and they knew that there was someplace else they were meant to be at.

Leila slowly opened her eyes to the rising sun and realized that her head was still on Ron’s shoulder...even though today was her wedding day, she secretly wished that time had froze. If only five years ago she had enough courage to ask for his number, instead of just giving hers to him. But, it was a bit too late now...she was supposed to head to the studio to get her wedding photos taken. And, it was also Christmas day.

Ron slowly opened his eyes and looked down at Leila who was apparently staring at him. He gave her a tired smile before realizing that today was Christmas day, and also, his wedding day. The smile on his face slowly faded as his realization became more apparent, but nonetheless he was happy that she was by his side at the moment.

Ron: Merry Christmas, Angel

Leila: Merry Christmas, Isaac

Ron: Angel...there’s somewhere I need to be, but...I really wish I could be here with you instead...and spend the rest of today with you...but I can’t

Leila: I know...my situation is exactly like yours...it’s too bad that we can’t spend more time together...

Ron looked at her and slowly his lips found hers, and they kissed for the last time as simply Angel and Isaac, two strangers who met five years ago and saw each other again on Christmas Eve.

Leila slowly pulled herself away from him before giving him one last embrace

Leila: I have to get going...I don’t know when we’ll see each other again...but...we’ll always have Christmas Eve

Ron smiled and nodded as he too got up and walked towards his car. This was their ending, simple yet filled with so much more. They each wanted to stay, to be with the other...but they both knew that had a place to be, a role to fulfill...but they both secretly wished that they would meet again, talk again...and share yet another memorable kiss.

Photo studio

Tavia ran to the door in her maid of honor dress as Leila arrived

Tavia: Where have you been? We were all getting worried that you really did run away

Leila: Did the groom arrive yet?

Tavia: Not yet...but I overheard his best man talking on the phone about him running off with some Hotel employee last night at his own bachelor party

Leila: Oh...

Tavia: But you should get changed anyways...then if he really doesn’t show up, you’ll definitely be the victim

The two of them made their way to the back of the studio to where the fitting rooms were and where Tavia had placed Leila’s wedding dress.

Moments later Ron came through the door and was anxiously greeted by Raymond

Raymond: You little devil

Ron: What did I do?

Raymond: I found you two very hot chicks and you ran off with Fala?

Ron: What? No! I went out for some air...

Raymond: Oh...well go on and get changed, your bride just arrived like five minutes ago

Ron did as his friend suggested, and when he came out of the change room...he couldn’t believe who he saw standing across from him, also coming out of a change room

Ron: Angel?

Tavia snickered: Uh...even though she does look heavenly in that wedding dress...she’s Leila...you know, your fiancĂ©e

Ron: What?

Leila: Isaac...what are you doing here?

Raymond: Whoa...that’s Ron...YOUR fiancĂ©

Ron smiled looking at his bride, and Leila smiled back. This was indeed a Christmas miracle...their only wish had actually come true...

Christmas Special: Part III

Howdy folks, it's been a few days since my last update...hopefully you're excited as I am for this update and of course the finale of my four part Christmas Special. Anyways, I don't want to delay this update any further...so here it is!

====

Leila decided to check out a little cafe she recalled a special acquaintance had told her about a few years ago when they met for the first and only time. She remembered the way he looked at her, the way he smiled and how they completely connected by sharing a little conversation as they stared out into the ocean watching the sun set. It was very romantic indeed...

She parked her car and walked towards the little cafe and as she walked in, she saw him...was fate playing with her at this very crucial moment?

Leila: Isaac?

At first he didn’t recognize someone was calling him, for he wasn’t actually known by that name...but after a moment of realizing that he was the only customer around, Ron turned to see who it was. And everything made sense. A smile had spread across his face as his eyes met hers and he stood up...

Ron: Angel?

She walked towards him, a smile now plastered on her face, she was glad that it was him and was even happier that he remembered her. Unexpectedly she found herself embracing him and felt his arms wrapped around her body...even though they hadn’t seen each other in five years...and even though the last time they met they were only in each other’s presence for a mere five hours...the embrace made all kind of sense to both of them.

Moments later Ron broke free from the embrace and just looked at her in amazement, it had been five years...and he felt this sudden urge to do something he wanted to do five years ago. Slowly he leaned in and his lips touched hers.

Leila didn’t know what to do...she could’ve easily pushed him away, but didn’t want to...and so as he gently pressed his lips on hers and as he slowly kissed her...without thinking she kissed him back. It felt right, but Leila knew this was something that shouldn’t be happening, and definitely not now...not before her big day tomorrow. So she broke free from the kiss and looked at him...

Leila: What was that all about?

Ron smiled: Something I forgot to do five years ago...I think our meeting back then didn’t end properly...and so...let’s just say that was the ending to what happened five years ago

Leila: Isaac...I...really thought you’d give me a call back then...but you sort of disappeared after that...and...

Ron: I’m really sorry Angel, I didn’t mean to leave you hanging or anything, it was just...a lot of things happened afterwards and I just never got around to giving you that call that I promised I would.

Leila: Of course...I’m just some girl you randomly met and talked to for hours on the beach that one time...it wouldn’t surprise me that much that you eventually forgot about me...

Ron: No...I didn’t forget...I remember everything you told me...from your favourite colour being blue, to your favourite cartoon being Pingu...from how you’ve always wanted to surf but are afraid of being knocked over by the waves...I still remember...

Leila: Then what’s the real reason why you didn’t call...

Ron: Because...nothing can come from us being together...I didn’t want to lead you on...

Leila: Even if nothing can become of us...I still would’ve wanted to keep in touch...it was nice to find someone so easy to talk to...

Ron: Oh, well...let me grab you a cup of their mocha that I advertised to you about years ago...

After coming back with a cup of Mocha the two of them took a seat and started to talk...

Ron: So...what’s a lovely lady like you doing alone on Christmas Eve?

Leila: I could easily ask you the same thing

Ron: True...but I’m not a lady

Leila laughed at his remark, there was something about him that made her feel so comfortable...and made her just want to spill everything out to him.

Leila: Well Isaac, I have a lot on my mind and I didn’t know where to go but here...considering how much you advertised about it back then...

Ron: Ah, well...like you, I too have a lot on my mind and tomorrow is supposedly a very big day for me...

Leila: A big day? Well, tomorrow is Christmas

Ron: Yes, Christmas Day...in itself is a big day, but tomorrow it’s going to be even bigger...well in my case that is

Leila: I think I can relate...there’s a part of me that doesn’t want tomorrow to come...

Ron: Me too...I just think that I’m not ready for what’s to come...and...well...I sort of want to just fly out to Hawaii or something and lie on the beach...just listening to the sound of the waves rolling in and out...

Leila: I’d like that too...and maybe we could talk till the sun rises...

Ron looked at her: But tomorrow’s going to come no matter what...

Leila: And running away from it isn’t exactly the best solution to dealing with it...

Ron nodded, he knew he had to go through with the wedding, because he agreed to it...he could’ve rejected the idea flatly, but instead agreed and now, he had to fulfill such commitment.

Leila knew that running away wasn’t the answer, all though her mom did tell her that she’d support her if she chose to do so...she couldn’t. She couldn’t let her parents down, her family down...she had a responsibility...

Ron: Angel...

Leila: Ya, Isaac?

Ron: Do you believe in love?

His question took her by surprise, why was he asking her such a thing, at a time like this...

Leila: I don’t know...I’m not even sure I know what love is...

================
Yay!!! I guess I sorta left it as a cliffhanger of sorts. I don't know, I'm actually kinda excited for the finale which I will post up tomorrow...since it is indeed the last day of 2010. And once the new year hits...I think I might write a lil recap of my year...it's nothing special...but I learned a lot more about myself than I usually do in a year (if that made any sense).

Anywho...back to this fanfic, I hope you enjoyed this chapter...I actually wanted to title this Christmas Special 'Serendipity' but, I know that word has been used quite often and I didn't want to over due it. But as you can tell, the title would very much suit this fanfic...and the next chapter will not only be the climax but also the finale...so...please comment, comment and comment.

To be very honest, your comments really help me out, especially during the school year when I feel so inferior because I'm always behind on my readings and those in my classes who are super keeners make me feel kinda bad lol. Anyways, I guess you had enough of my rambling...

I hope you enjoyed this update and I'll be back tomorrow with the finale!

Christmas Special: Part II

Howdy folks, I hope you enjoyed the first 'part' of my fanfic that went through Ron's situation and well, like I said, here is the second part. Enjoy.

=================

It was late in the evening as the two of them were sitting in front of the fireplace just thinking about and talking about all the times they spent together. It was amazing how they met when they were both only eighteen, fresh out of high school and got roomed together in university by pure chance. And now, this moment was probably their last together as two single ladies with endless dreams and possibilities...

Tavia: Leila, we’re gonna be late for your party

Leila: I don’t really feel like going...how about we just stay home and watch a nice romantic comedy...

Tavia: Don’t be stupid...tonight’s your last night as a young, hot and very eligible bachelorette...

Leila: It’s not like I’m gonna hook up with some stranger tonight and fly off to Vegas to have a wedding in a split second

Tavia looked at her: Maybe...or...you could meet him here by chance...

Leila: Who are you talking about?

Tavia: You know exactly who I’m talking about...remember...our trip five years ago...after you came back all you talked about was him...for weeks

Leila: Oh please, that was just a...casual thing we had that night...

Tavia laughed: You’re making it sound like you two actually got it on...but from what I remembered you telling me was the two of you spoke for hours...lame

Leila: Hey, I’m a more platonic person you know...

Tavia: Of course...it’s all about that emotional and spiritual connection the two of you shared...boring...

Leila: Whatever, I’m getting married tomorrow to a guy I met like fifteen years ago...I think that’s enough excitement

Tavia laughed: You’re such a goody two shoes...I swear you could easily run away...or even better tell your parents that I’m your one true love and that...well...marrying a man isn’t right for you

The two of them bursted into laughter...Leila looked at her best friend and obviously maid of honour and was glad that she was there with her. She couldn’t imagine what she would do if Tavia had said no...But then again it would be very much unlike Tavia to say no to wearing a pretty gown and meeting rich, good looking young men.

Tavia: So...what’s it going to be?

Leila: How about you go out there and find yourself a date for my wedding tomorrow and I’ll stay back...maybe take a nice drive around the city or something later...

Tavia: Oh, I see...you think I’m gonna steal your limelight out there

Leila laughed: Of course, your beauty is just too much for those silly men to handle...and I don’t want to be overshadowed by you on my last night as a smokin’ single lady

Tavia joined in the laughter: alright then...I’ll be off...

Leila: Ok...remember the ceremony starts at noon sharp...so be home...before

Tavia: Don’t worry...I got your back b**ch

Leila smiled: Oh...and if you’re not back before midnight...Merry Christmas

Tavia hugged her best friend in the whole world: Merry Christmas Leila Tong...by this time tomorrow...you’ll be Mrs. Ng...Leila Ng...I don’t know...I think I’ll have some difficulty getting use to it...

Leila noticed Tavia’s eyes starting to tear up a bit and realized that her eyes were too. Moments later they were sitting on the couch of Leila’s parent’s house crying their eyes out...this was probably the last moment where it would be just the two of them...roommates and best friends.

Leila (crying): Tavia, stop crying...your mascara is going to run

Tavia (crying): you stop crying...my mascara won’t run because it’s (sobs) waterproof

Leila (crying): Your eyes will be all red...how are you going to party it up tonight?

Tavia (crying): You’re right...but you stop first

Woman: What’s with all this ruckus?

Leila: Mommy

Tavia: Auntie Mary

Leila’s mom sat down in between the two of them

Mary: I thought the two of you finished your crying last week, when you were still in states

Leila sobbed: I thought so too...but...

Tavia sobbed: Leila’s getting married...tomorrow!

Mary: That’s it...Tavia...go upstairs, wash up and head out that door...you have a party to go to and you...we need to have a little talk

Tavia left Mary and Leila alone as she went upstairs to wash up.

Mary: Leila, you know that this wedding means a lot to both families...but as your mother...I need you to know that you will always have my support...and whatever you choose to do is fine by me...here take the keys

Leila: Mom...

Mary: This is your last chance to think things through...I don’t want you to marry someone just because it would help our family business...

Leila hugged her mother: Thanks mom...I guess I’ll go for a drive...and think things through...
==============
As you can tell...Leila indeed is the bride to be...and the next chapter will really pick up the pace as it will explain things a bit better about our bride and groom to be. I'm quite excited about the next chapter actually...and hope you are too.

Well...please leave me a comment or two and have a fantastic day.

Christmas Special: Part I

Howdy folks, in my last post (update of Take 2) I said that my Christmas Special will have only two parts...but there is now a change of plans...instead there will be four parts. The first two will showcase the 'situation' of the two main characters and the last two will have a more 'normal' feel. So...here is part one.

=============

It’s that time of year again. To be quite frank, Christmas has always been my favourite holiday, not because of the gifts and the food but because of the warmth that it brings to me. And of course, it also gives me the opportunity to write short little Christmas Specials to warm up your holiday as well.

The snow had covered the ground like a thick warm cozy blanket just waiting for someone to curl up into it. The streets were well decorated with colourful lights and ornaments, with beautiful reefs hung on almost every single door. He took a deep breath and felt the cold winter air fill his lungs and surprisingly warm his empty soul. He closed his eyes and could hear the voices of carollers singing and the sound of bells ringing...indeed it was that time of year again.

He looked down at his watch to see the time, and realized that he should get going. He wasn’t a firm believer in love at first sight, nor was he a believer in love at all. Growing up in a family that treasured money among all other things, he became simply empty. As he got older, his world filled with materialistic wealth started to overwhelm him, but as the eldest son he had to endure it all. His marriage was supposed to happen tomorrow...on Christmas Day.

Both families thought it was indeed a wise choice to hold the grandest and most stunning wedding of the century on one of the most memorable days of the year. Sadly, the last time he had seen his bride was when he was fifteen, and she was only twelve. He didn’t understand why she would agree to such a marriage like he did considering the fact that not only did she grew up abroad but when they met she seemed to have pretty much despised him. But, maybe she was like him, not a believer in love but rather a simple person who was bred to feel fulfilled by wealth and whose predisposed destiny was to expand the family business.

Ron got into his car parked in the middle of a very busy shopping mall parking lot and drove off this his bachelor party. Even though he didn’t care much about bachelor parties, and even less about his own wedding and wedding traditions...his friends had decided to hold him a bachelor party for him to remember his last night of bachelor hood. When he arrived his closest buddy came out to greet him, and he could already smell the alcohol coming from his breath.

Raymond: Hey buddy...am I the best best man or what?

Ron: Is that a trick question?

Raymond laughed: Just wait till you see what I got for your bachelor party...

The two of them walked into the hotel and to the hall that was specifically booked for Ron’s bachelor party. From a distance Ron could already hear the blasting music and the intoxicating smell of women’s perfume mixed with a variety of alcohol. It was madness once he stepped inside...

Christmas Eve couldn’t get any naughtier. Ron let out a slight chuckle at the idea of what Santa Claus would have to say about his bachelor party. He turned to tell Raymond what he was thinking about but Raymond had disappeared into the wild swarm of strippers he got for the party. Ron wasn’t quite sure of what he should be doing at his own bachelor party but in all honesty, it wasn’t meant for him...

Ron was never the real player type. Sure he had the looks, the money and the fame, which easily meant that women would be all over him, but he didn’t want to trouble himself with the chaos that being a player would bring. Once in a while his name would brace the headlines of many gossip magazines...but from his side of the story, it was never what those magazines had reported. One night stands, sleepovers, going after actresses...that wasn’t him.

Woman: Hi there

Ron turned to see a gorgeous woman standing next to him.

Ron: Hi

Woman: I’m Fala...I’m not one of them (pointing to the swarm of strippers)

Ron: I...wasn’t going to say that you were judging by your attire

Fala smiled: I’m glad you’re not like the rest of your friends there

Ron chuckled: I’m glad they’re having a good time though

Fala: How about you?

Ron: I don’t really feel like I belong here...I feel like I should go home and get a good night’s sleep before my big day tomorrow

Fala: Oh, so you’re the main character at this party...if you didn’t say that I would’ve assumed it was your friend over there (pointing to Raymond)

Ron: He loves these things...and when he found out I was getting married, he called me up and offered to throw me one...Anyways, Fala...judging by your attire, I’m going to assume you work for the hotel...so are we getting complaints about our party here?

Fala: Oh no...I just came to check if everything’s going well...I’m actually a friend of Raymond’s...an event planner...Raymond actually told me to check on you...he told me you’d be the guy who would stand out at this party

Ron chuckled: I guess he knows me too well...

Fala: Here (she handed him a key card) this is to the presidential sweet upstairs...Raymond told me to give it to you...considering the fact that you have a big day tomorrow...he thinks you should get some nice sleep

Ron: Thanks...wait...will there be anyone up there accompanying me? Cause it wouldn’t be Raymond’s idea if that suite is simply empty and waiting for me

Fala laughed: I guess you know him just as well...but I’m obligated not to tell...so...goodnight Mr. Ng

Ron: You’re not going to take me upstairs?

Fala: Raymond told me I’m not your type...and I’m not that type either...

Ron smiled: Thanks, Fala

He walked out of the loud and crowded hall and went into the hotel lobby. He stood in front of the elevator doors and contemplated about whether or not he should go upstairs to the suite his friend and booked for him. After a few minutes he decided to return the keys to the front desk and went to get his car instead.

Afterall, it was Christmas Eve and what he wanted to do most wasn’t to ‘party it up’ but rather spend it at a little quiet cafe he sometimes goes to and recommends to almost everyone he meets. He sat there staring blankly out the cafe’s window realizing how tomorrow at this time he’d be married. He shook his head realizing all the things he could actually do to not get married tomorrow...but...he didn’t want to run away...

==================

Oh...I forgot to mention this is a RL fanfic...Ron and Leila to be specific...and so the next chapter will be focused on Leila's side of the story...it'll most likely be up tomorrow...so keep an eye out for it.

Remember to leave me some nice comments or not so nice comments...I guess...but just comment.

Happy Holidays!!! Hopefully Santa got you what you wanted...and you spent some quality time with those you love...
