Why TVB, Why?

Howdy folks,

I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on the current TVB news and such. No, I'm not going to share any thoughts on the Raymond Lam scandal here...those thoughts...well...they'll obviously be in my update of The Stalker...DUH! But, I'm going to comment on what Sammul Chan recently said in an interview about TVB promoting others who are their 'biological' sons and daughters. I thought that he brought quite a good point to the table. In recent years the shocker of all shockers was when at a TVB anniversary TVB gave their best actor and actress award to well-deserving candidates, Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai, respectively. But...then TVB does something that's ridiculous.

And what did they do? Well...they played along with all of the hype generated and decided to make another series starring those two...which I have yet to watch because...I don't have the patience to do so. But what TVB also went on with was the Laughing gor character. Sure, his character was interesting...but...why TVB, WHY? Why did there have to be a movie, why did there have to be a reference to this Laughing gor character in your other series, WHY is there now a series that is strictly on Laughing gor, WHY?

Being a person who grew up watching TVB series...Michael Tse has never once crossed my mind as a great actor...he is no Wayne Lai...he is no Bobby Au Yeung...who all sprouted out to become leading actors through playing various supporting roles. Michael Tse got lucky with playing Laughing gor, because that character was indeed 'well-written' and I'm using this term VERY loosely. However, Michael Tse did impress me at one point in La Femme Desperado...but...again, his 'partner' was Sheren Tang, whose acting I have always loved.

So...TVB is promoting Michael Tse. So far this year he has one series released and another to be released. I know at this point Michael Tse supporters are going to attack me for saying this...but...WHY? Yes, it's true that TVB has already released two series with Kevin Cheng, two with Steven Ma, and two that has Bosco Wong (Yes, I'm just talking about male actors, don't worry...probably when Yes Sir, No Sir airs...I WILL have something to say about...Tavia Yeung). But...you see, readers, people of the world who have stumbled upon this blog...the characters that those actors played varied...but...for Michael Tse...he has been type-casted.

As you can see...even if he isn't type-casted...his facial expressions are identical...yes...Laughing gor is undercover as YUE CHI-HIU (on the left) and has time-traveled to become Ngo Siu-fung (on the right)...NO WAY!

I am actually very sick and tired of having to see Laughing gor in so many series...I mean Michael Tse...that I might just not watch Emissary...even though I do miss Sammul Chan. TVB should have let Pak-Kiu shine instead of marry that wooden girl...whose name is totally not part of my memory. To be very honest, I would've much preferred another installment of The Academy with Sammul and Ron leading the series...especially because from the last installment, not only did they share greater chemistry compared to previous series (which makes sense), but their acting has also improved...yes, Ron Ng's acting has slowly but surely improved.

So...WHY TVB, WHY?

Take 2: Chapter 21

Ch 21

Howdy folks,

Yes I know, it’s been a few months...and I know I should apologize, but...I think it’s now a part of your expectations that I update this fanfic once every few months lol. Actually, this update was supposed to be up last month during reading week, but the plan kind of flopped since I had a few things to prepare over that week.

Anywho, let me post a little something from the previous chapter as a miniscule reminder as to what happened a while ago.

~ Previously~

Ron and Linda were walking to the bus stop...

Linda: If we’re walking there together, let’s at least talk...

Ron: Ok...what do you want to talk about?

Linda: That girl you were talking to earlier...

Ron: Oh...what about her?

Linda: how did you two meet?

Ron: In class...she let me copy her notes once, cause I was a bit distracted

Linda: That’s it?

Ron: What else do you want? I’m not Stephanie Meyer, I’m not going to make up a long story to tell you about how we met and then describe it in unnecessary amounts of details...

Linda laughed: Someone’s been reading Twilight

Ron: It was recommended to me, ok...

Linda smiled: Sure it was...

Ron: Wait a minute...you’ve been reading Twilight too...

Linda: What? How could you draw such a horrible conclusion?

Ron: Because...I was talking about Stephanie Meyer and you automatically concluded I was reading Twilight, so...you must be too

Linda: Well...maybe...Stephanie Meyer is only known for writing that horrible Twilight series, and it’s all over the place...

Ron: Uh...huh...

Linda: Well...you’re just trying to drag me down with you

Ron laughed: Maybe I am...or maybe...it’s the truth

The way Ron said ‘the truth’ made Linda burst into laughter as well, and together they laughed harmoniously as they walked towards the bus stop. It was strange, Ron felt as though his day started off so terribly, yet...now he was laughing and talking so happily with Linda. It felt great...and he knew that it was all thanks to her...

~ New update~

Strange enough he was smiling, smiling to himself in his unlit room while staring down onto a blank page in his notebook. Why was he smiling? Then the answer appeared so clearly in his mind...it was her that made him smile and made that smile linger on his face even after he got home. Finally, he broke the silence and unconsciously whispered ‘thank you.’

After a while though, his smile faded, and he was back to being what he was...a sad man. Maybe he wasn’t a sad man; perhaps he was too much of a sentimental man to get over his heart break. He knows it just hurts him more thinking about it, yet he still does...and with every thought there’s a tear that wells up in his eyes. To some he may be a hopeless man, to some he may be an introverted romantic...and then he wondered what he was to her.

Maybe he wasn’t good enough, and he thought maybe he will never be good enough, but then he had a chance, yet his grip on the opportunity was not firm enough. He heaved a sigh, stared at his ceiling and then...

Ron: I have to move on...I just have to...

And then, he realized something else. He just simply wanted her back in his life...and since he couldn't speak to her right away in person, or listen to the sound of her voice without welling up with more tears, he decided to send her yet another e-mail.

~ E-mail~

Hey Leila,

I know we haven’t seen each other since that walk...or maybe we have but I just haven’t been ‘tuned into reality’ to notice. Anyways, I think we ended on a pretty bad note, and I’m sorry. To be honest, which I always am...and now I feel redundant, every time I see you, I’m a bit intimidated, a bit nervous and I get a bit emotional. Intimidated because I think you’re just so beautiful, nervous because I don’t want to screw up what’s left to be screwed up and emotional because I was so, so in love with you. I hope this doesn’t make me sound like I’m trying to win you back or anything, but I am...not in the way you might think, but as a friend. I realized, I just want our friendship back...because it was great having you in my life.

Your friend,

Ron

~ end~

He closed his eyes and clicked send. That was it that was what he wanted to say...and now all he had to do was wait. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled...it felt as though a little burden was lifted off of his shoulders...and he hoped everything would work out for the best.

=============
=O What is this? An update that has almost NO dialogue? *GASP* Ya...I thought I'd change it up a bit...so there it was...it might look 'shorter' however, it's actually more...just compacted because it's not dialogue. Well...I hope you enjoyed it...I guess this also means the next chapter will have Ron/Leila moments and...well...I hope you'll enjoy what's to come.

So...now, it's your turn. Please leave a comment...the more the merrier...

Anyways,

Randomness...OUT!!!
