~ Coburg Bar~

Ron: Can I get a whisky on the rocks

Bartender: You got it

Moments later Ron was on his second drink of the night, when he heard the sound a woman’s voice

Lady: Excuse me sir

Ron: I’m not interested, sorry

Lady: Well, you dropped your wallet

Ron: My wallet? (He started feeling his pocket and realized it was empty)

Lady: Here (she handed him his wallet)

Ron: Must’ve fallen out when I tried to search for my phone or something. Thanks

Lady: Not a problem

Ron: How about I buy you a drink then, as an apology and thanking you for picking up my wallet

Lady: Sure. I’d like a Pina Colada

Bartender: Here you go

Lady: Thanks

Ron: So...are you waiting for friends

Lady: I was...but she called and cancelled on me, so I thought I’d have a drink anyways before heading home...

Ron: Oh

Lady: You?

Ron: I’m just having a drink, but...I’m also trying to avoid heading home...my mom’s on the ‘the world is going to end, and I have no grandchildren, or daughter-in-law’ rampage

She laughed: Oh, well, at least your parents don’t tell you ‘this is what happens when you let girls go to school, now that they’re successful, men are intimidated, so she’ll live with us for the rest of her life’

Ron laughed: I guess your story makes mine sound a bit less horrifying

Lady: Yup...I remember once my dad even told me how men were afraid I’d castrate them

Ron: What? No way...

Lady: I know, right...

Ron: I’m Ron by the way and you are...if you don’t mind telling me of course

Lady: Linda

At that moment is phone rang

Ron: Sorry, I really have to take this call

Linda: No problem

Moments later he came back

Ron: Hey, I’m really glad we bumped into each other but I have to get going...something happened at work and it seems as though they can’t resolve it without me...so...

Linda: Oh, that’s fine...I’m just about to leave as well...but probably after I finish my drink

Ron smiled: Well...here’s my card (hands her his business card), hopefully we get to meet again and compare notes on our parents

Linda smiled: That sounds good and here’s mine (hands him her business card)

Ron: Great, bye

Linda: Bye

After he left, she finally had the chance to take a look at his business card

Linda: A director? He must really think I’m some naive movie star wannabe...typical

~ Studio Main Entrance~

Bosco: Thank goodness you’re back

Ron: What’s going on? Were you actually waiting for me?

Bosco: No...I just had nothing better to do than stand around at the main entrance

Ron: So, what happened?

Bosco: Remember how the producer had to use two main female leads instead of one...

Ron: Ya, and?

Bosco: Well...the other one came in and saw us editing the footages...she asked to see what we had so far...and well...she was unhappy that she had less screen time

Ron: So?

Bosco: Ron, do you know who she is?

Ron: An actress

Bosco: She’s one of the company’s shareholder’s daughters

Ron: I know, I told you that... and?

Bosco: Fine, since you obviously think this is some trivial issue, how about you go and resolve it then

Ron: Isn’t that why you called in the first place?

Bosco: Seriously, with this attitude your mom has every right to worry

Ron looked at him: Ok...well...it’s really your fault my mom has to worry

Bosco: What now?

Ron: Before you gave me that panic call, I was having one of the most interesting conversations with this lovely lady...

Bosco: Really?

Ron: Ya, she even gave me her business card before I left, take a look (hands him the card)

Bosco: Cardiologist? Really? Or is this your mom’s doctor?

Ron: Fine, don’t believe me...I’ll go on in...and resolve this first...then we’ll talk about the loss you made me endure

Bosco chuckled: Well...you could always give her a call...unless...this is the type of woman who is playing hard to get by handing out a business card that has the word cardiologist on it implying she can easily play with your heart

Ron: That’s my thought exactly. And now if you excuse me, I have an actress I need to take care of

Bosco: Yes, charm her into submission

~Ron’s office~

Ron: So, how can I help you?

Sire: Well...I came back because I was curious as to how everything gets edited and put together...so I asked them to show me what they have so far...and then I realized that half of my scenes were cut

Ron: I think you might be exaggerating a little bit...

Sire: Well...we’ve been filming a good 12-14 hours a day for the past month...I didn’t expect there to be that much of me but still as the co-star...I expected at least half of the screen time...

Ron: You have to look at it this way...some of your scenes were cut because they weren’t perfected enough yet...we’ll probably have to go back and re-film to make sure everything is actually together and works out smoothly...so you shouldn’t worry about your screen time (He puts a hand on her shoulder) As long as you’re really working hard, even if you don’t have half the screen time, the audience can still appreciate you as a good actress...

Sire: You really think so?

Ron smiled: Of course...that’s why a lot of supporting roles get a lot more noise than the leads...think of Laughing Sir

Sire: I guess it’s true...so there might be a chance that we will be re-filming a few scenes then

Ron nodded: Of course...plus I’ll be the one making the final judgement over the editing...so...we’ll see

Sire: Thanks! (She stood up and gave him a hug)

Ron smiled: Not a problem...just work hard ok?

Sire smiled: I will, thanks Ron...you don’t mind if I call you by your first name, right?

Ron: Just, avoid that when we film...ok?

Sire: Sure

Moments later he left his office and was greeted by Bosco

Bosco: She looks a lot happier now...what did you do?

Ron: I spoke to her...and told her that she shouldn’t worry...as long as she works hard, even if her screen time is reduced the audience will still appreciate her

Bosco: Anything else?

Ron: What are you implying?

Bosco: I don’t know...young actress, whose father is extremely wealthy, and a young handsome director, in the same room...

Ron smiled: Well...I did get a hug...

Bosco smirked: Is that all?

Ron: What do you think happened?

Bosco: I don’t know, she seems like she’s into you...so...I only presumed that she started up this tantrum to get some attention from our handsome director here

Ron: Is that it? Wow...maybe I should be careful...don’t want any rumours to start...

Bosco: Uh huh...speaking of rumours, did you hear what’s going on with Ka-wing

Ron: Ya...something about being aloof and self-centred...but that doesn’t sound like the Kevin we know

Bosco: You know how he is...he doesn’t go around trying to please everyone...poor guy is always misunderstood

Ron: Funny how they’re only talking about his ‘personality’ now when he’s all famous and stuff...and that’s why I don’t film series or movies that involves these old shifus and masters

Bosco laughed: That’s why you film series and dramas with pretty female leads who love being in your company

Ron smiled: I like working with people I like...that’s why I’m always working with you and Myolie

Bosco: Maybe it’s because we’re the only two assistant director and production manager that can stand your personality

Yay!!! They finally met...I hope that their meeting was interesting rather than just something you've seen before...I don't know. And the ending, I just thought I should kinda express how I felt about the whole Kevin Cheng incident thing...I was actually going to post a rant...but thought, it's probably not a great idea. However, I do have to say this

I really don’t like these martial artists who think just because they have seniority and such that they expect everyone to listen to them. If that is the case there will never be any progress. People have to ask questions, people have to have their own opinions. Yes, you should respect your elders and those around you, but what I’ve learned is that respect should be mutual. If they do not respect you, they do not respect your individuality then they do not deserve your respect. Now, this may sound really harsh, but that’s what I believe in. Respect is gained, it is not a given, sometimes people need a bit of reminding...so good on Kevin.

Ya...that's about it...so remember to comment and I'll be back soon...thanks for the reminder about my other fanfics...I will get to them since I'm off now (though I'm in the middle of graduate applications).

Remember to comment,

Randomness...OUT!!!
